This policy explains what information Typetrans collects, how we use it, how uploaded documents are handled, and how to contact us about privacy requests.

1. Who we are
Typetrans is a web service for checking and formatting DOCX documents. In this policy, Typetrans, we, us, and our mean the operator of the Typetrans website and service.

2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide or generate while using the service:
- Account information, such as your name, email address, and Google account identifier when you sign in.
- Uploaded DOCX files, generated formatted files, file names, file size, page count, selected format templates, and formatting reports.
- Subscription, credit balance, credit transaction, purchase, and invoice-related information needed to provide paid features.
- Support messages and any information you send to us by email.
- Usage and device information, such as pages visited, browser type, approximate location from IP address, referral source, and product events.
3. Uploaded documents and generated files
You keep ownership of the documents you upload. We process your documents only to provide the service, including scanning, applying selected formatting rules, generating a downloadable result, preventing abuse, debugging failures, and supporting your account.
Uploaded and formatted files are stored temporarily in Cloudflare R2. Download access requires the authenticated account that created the formatting job.
Typetrans does not provide persistent document storage or document history. Download links expire after about 12 hours. Actual storage cleanup may be processed asynchronously.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. Paddle may collect payment details, billing address, tax information, invoice information, and fraud prevention data under its own policies.
We receive payment status, subscription status, product or price IDs, transaction IDs, and other records needed to activate Pro access, add credits, handle refunds, and provide support.
5. How we use information
- Provide uploads, scans, formatting, temporary downloads, templates, subscriptions, and credits.
- Authenticate accounts and protect account access.
- Process purchases, cancellations, refunds, invoices, taxes, and payment support.
- Improve product quality, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and secure the service.
- Respond to support, legal, privacy, and billing requests.
- Measure aggregate product usage and marketing performance.
6. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your uploaded documents or personal information. We share information only as needed to operate Typetrans, comply with law, protect the service, or complete transactions.
Service providers may include:
- Cloudflare for hosting, D1 database, R2 storage, Workers, security, and delivery.
- Google for Google OAuth sign-in and, if enabled, Google Analytics.
- Paddle for checkout, payment processing, subscriptions, tax, invoices, and refund handling.
7. Cookies and analytics
Typetrans may use cookies or similar technologies for sign-in, session security, checkout continuity, analytics, and product measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some account or checkout features may not work without them.
8. Retention and deletion
Account, billing, and transaction records are kept as long as needed to provide the service, meet tax and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, and protect the service.
Uploaded and generated files are temporary. Download links expire after about 12 hours, and files are scheduled for automated cleanup. Some logs, backups, transaction records, or security records may remain for a limited period where required for legitimate business or legal purposes.

9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your data, including authenticated download access, random file identifiers, and reputable infrastructure providers.
No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Do not upload documents containing highly sensitive regulated data unless you are comfortable using a self-service web tool. See our File Safety page for more detail.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the use of your personal information. Email us at support@typetrans.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.
11. Children
Typetrans is not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as Typetrans changes. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date above.
