1. Agreement
By accessing or using Typetrans, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
In these terms, Typetrans, we, us, and our mean the operator of the Typetrans website and service. Contact us at support@typetrans.com.
2. The service
Typetrans provides DOCX format checking, automated formatting, temporary document downloads, format templates, and related account features. Typetrans does not provide persistent document storage or document history. Supported formats, limits, prices, and paid features may change over time.
3. Accounts
Some features require signing in, currently through Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining access to your login method and for activity under your account.
You must provide accurate information for account, support, and billing purposes. We may suspend or limit access if we believe an account is being misused, violates these terms, or creates risk for Typetrans or other users.
4. Your documents and content
You keep ownership of the documents you upload and the formatted files generated from them. You give Typetrans permission to process, store, scan, format, and transmit those files only as needed to provide and support the service.
You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload each document. Do not upload illegal content, malware, content that violates another person's rights, or content you are not allowed to process through a third-party service.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to break, reverse engineer, overload, scan, or bypass security controls.
- Do not use Typetrans to process malware, spam, abusive content, or illegal material.
- Do not resell, scrape, or automate the service in a way that harms availability or violates rate limits.
- Do not interfere with payment, credit, authentication, or access control systems.
6. Free checks, subscriptions, and credits
Free users may check document formatting and use selected features subject to published limits. Formatting a document may require credits or a paid plan.
Pro subscriptions include paid features such as monthly formatting credits, custom templates, and priority processing as described on the Pricing page. Monthly subscription credits reset each billing period and do not roll over.
Credit packs may be purchased separately. Credits are tied to your Typetrans account and are used for formatting jobs. One credit covers up to 20 pages of a document, and longer documents are charged in 20-page increments. Purchased credits do not expire. Credits have no cash value, are not a bank account, and cannot be transferred unless we approve it in writing.
7. Payments and Paddle
Payments are processed by Paddle. Paddle may handle checkout, payment method collection, tax calculation, invoices, receipts, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. Paddle's own terms and privacy policy apply to payment processing.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges at the selected billing interval until canceled. You can cancel future renewals according to the instructions provided through the checkout, account, receipt, or support process.
8. Refunds and cancellations
Refund and cancellation rules are explained in our Refund Policy. If a formatting job fails because of a Typetrans error after a credit is consumed, contact us and we will review the job for a credit return or refund where appropriate.
9. Temporary file availability and deletion
Uploaded and generated files are temporarily stored only to process your formatting job, provide the result for download, and support short-term troubleshooting. Download links expire after about 12 hours. We do not provide document history, and storage cleanup may be processed asynchronously as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. No professional advice
Typetrans helps apply document formatting rules. It does not provide legal, tax, publishing, academic, editorial, or compliance advice. You are responsible for reviewing the final document and confirming that it meets the requirements of your publisher, journal, school, platform, or client.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Typetrans reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may update, limit, suspend, or discontinue features when needed for maintenance, security, product changes, legal reasons, or business reasons.
12. Intellectual property
Typetrans, the website, software, interface, templates, branding, and related materials are owned by or licensed to Typetrans. These terms do not give you ownership of Typetrans technology or brand assets.
13. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Typetrans is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, lost submissions, or business interruption. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The latest version will be posted on this page. Continued use of Typetrans after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
